Introduction: How to Make a Paper Flamingo That Flies
Hi, today I am going to show you how to make a paper flamingo that flies! The supplies that you will need: razer knife, rotary paper cutter (optional), pink paper, gloves, a glue stick, and a marker.
Step 1: Paper Measurements
In the photo above I have the measurements of the different pieces of paper. Cut them out using a rotary cutter or with scissors.
Step 2: Fold
First get piece A and fold it in half and unfold.
Step 3: Fold
Next fold down 2in from the top.
Step 4: Fold
Now fold both sides to the center of the paper and unfold.
Step 5: Fold
Next fold the corners 3 and 3/4in from the top and shown in the photo above.
Step 6: Fold
Next fold it in half as shown above.
Step 7: Mark and Cut
Use a cup or a lid that is 2 and 1/2in in diameter to mark and cut. MAKE SURE TO WEAR GLOVES WHILE USING A KNIFE!!!
Step 8: Mark and Cut
Using a cup mark the measurements as shown above, and cut.
Step 9: Mark and Cut
Mark and cut what I have shown above, then round off the corner as shown in the last photo.
Step 10: Glue
Unfold everything and glue as I have shown in the pictures above.
Step 11:
Using a cup mark and cut as i have shown above. Then glue it in place.
Step 12: Fold
Fold piece B in half then 2in from the top then fold the top piece in half and unfold as shown in the photos.
Step 13: Mark Cut and Fold
Mark 1 and 5/8in from the top and make a triangle to the center then cut, fold, and glue as shown in the photos.
Step 14: Mark and Cut
Mark line 2 and 3/4in from each other, then cut. DO NOT CUT IT OFF ALL THE WAY, AND ONLY CUT THE LINES TO THE SIDES!!! Then fold the 2 flaps towards the middle to look like wings and glue.
Step 15: Mark and Cut
Using a protractor copy what I have done in the photos above and cut.
Step 16: Glue the Wings to the Body
Next glue the wing to the body as I have shown above.
Step 17: Mark, Cut, and Glue
Cut 4 rectangles 1 and 1/2 by 3in. Then draw a flamingo head and cut them out, then glue the layers together.
Step 18: Fold and Cut
Fold piece D in half the unfold, then 1/4in from the bottom make a line that goes to the top left corner of the rectangle, and cut.
Step 19: Glue
Almost finished! Now glue the head and feet to the body as shown above.
Step 20: Almost Finished!
After you do all the steps it should look like this!
Step 21: Detail
Now put some detail on the flamingo. Using a marker and a pen make it look like a real flamingo. I am not great at drawing and stuff like that, that is why mine doesn't look that great, but if you are good at that stuff your flamingo will look great!
Step 22: Congratulations You Are Finished!
Yay, now you have a paper flamingo that flies! Have fun flying! :D
