How to Make a Paper Hat

Today I'm about to show you how to make a paper hat. #Hercules2016

Step 1: 1. Materials

You will need:

1. A piece of paper about 10.5 in. x 8 in. or bigger (recommend using a much larger piece of paper to fit on your head). You can also use a different color of paper, I just used the plain white printer paper.

Optional:

1. Ruler

Step 2: 2. Folding

Start off by folding the piece of paper horizontally (hamburger style), making sure you aren't folding the paper in the wrong way.

Step 3: 3. Crease It

Creasing gives the paper more of a sturdier and thin layer of paper, making it have sharper edges. You start off by clamping your index finger, and your thumb nails against the folded side of the paper. Moving your two finger nails from one side to the other.

Step 4: 4. Locate the Center

You can find the center of the paper if u fold it in half vertically, and make sure you crease it as well. I just used my ruler to locate the center of the paper.

Step 5: 5. Fold It Downwards

Next you want to take the folded edges, and fold it inwards onto the line you have made, forming two triangles.

(Make sure to crease it)

Looks like an airplane a bit.

Step 6: 6. More Folding!

Below the 2 triangles you have flaps that kind of sticks out. Take 1 side of the flaps and fold it inwards forming another triangle and do it on the other side as well.

(Remember to crease it)

Step 7: 7. Flip It

Flip it onto the other side and like in step 6 fold in the flaps inwards forming another triangle. If your having problems getting the folds straight use the other side of the paper hat and replicate it.

Step 8: 8. Fold It Upwards

Now fold both flaps upwards, and line it up with the triangle above, and crease it. Then flip to the other side and repeat the process.

Step 9: 9. Open/Separate It

Grab your paper hat, and open between the bottom of the triangular hat.

Step 10: 10. Your Done!

You now have your very own paper hat! If you used the same size as I did, it will most likely not fit on your head. If you have more time to spend you could go back, and get a much larger piece of paper and put it on your head for some kind of game, or cos play. I don't know use it for whatever your making this for.
