How to Make a Seedbed With Recycled Material

Step 1: Materials

• Plastic cups
• Potting soil
• Seeds
• A drill bit or something to open holes

Step 2: Open Holes in Plastic Cup

Open holes in the bottom of the plastic cup, this will help to drain the seedling and avoid the apparition of fungi that can prevent the germination of the seed.

Step 3: Fill the Plastic Cup With Soil

Step 4: Plant the Seed

• Placing two or more seeds per hole, because not all seeds will germinate, it is guaranteed that at least one will germinate.
• After placing the seed, cover with a little more soil and irrigate with the sprayer, this time in less quantity due to previous irrigation.

La cantidad de semillas a plantar en cada vaso dependerá de su tamaño, así como de la cantidad de plantas que deseen cultivar, tomando en cuenta lo siguiente:

• Colocar dos o mas semillas por agujero, debido a que no todas las semillas germinarán así se garantiza que al menos una germinará.
• Luego de colocar la semilla cubrirla con un poco mas de tierra y volver a regarla con el pulverizador, esta vez en menos cantidad debido al riego previo.

Step 5: Finally

• Wait one or two weeks depending on the seed used (cherry tomato in this example).
• When the plant has at least 4 true leaves, it is transferred to a larger pot

• Esperar una o dos semanas dependiendo de la semilla que se utilice (en este ejemplo se utilizó tomate cherry).
• Cuando la planta tenga al menos 4 hojas verdaderas se traslada a una maceta mas grande
• Si germina mas de una semilla por agujero pueden elegir la planta que se desarrolle más rápido y cortar las demás
