Introduction: How to Make a Sparrow With Old Newspapers
Old newspapers are everywhere and they can be reused to make crafts. That's why I wanted to make a sparrow with some of them along with dry flowers. So let's see how to make this cute sparrow following few easy steps and using simple supplies.
Supplies
For this craft I used supplies that I found at home which are:
- Old newspapers.
- Tall hay straw.
- Glue.
- Pencil.
- scissors.
- Dry flowers and branches.
Step 1: Making Newspaper Rolls
To make our craft we have first to make newspaper rolls, here is how:
- Cut newspaper pages into rectangles varied in size.
- Take one newspaper piece and use the hay straw to roll it.
- Glue the rolled piece at its end.
- Pull the hay straw out.
- Repeat until you end up with around 25 newspaper rolls of various lengths and diameters.
Step 2: Gluing the Rolls
After you draw the sparrow on a newspaper page, begin to glue the rolls on the drawing one by one next to each other until you fill it entirely.
Step 3: Nature Touchs
After we remove the excessive parts of the page, we can add some dry flowers and branches to our sparrow:
- Glue one small flower on the eye.
- Glue a thin branch one side the to the bird and the other one on a thick branch and stick a flower petal on it.
- Use some dry petals and feather eucalyptus and glue them as a wing.
- Cut a triangle piece from a dry leaf and glue it to the beak.
Step 4: A Bird on a Branch
Now you don't have to go out to see nature and birds because you have a sparrow on a branch at home. But unfortunately it can't sing!
