How to Make a Spring Time Wreath

Hanging a wreath on your door doesn’t have to be something you do only during the winter. There are wreaths for all different seasons and holidays. They’ll make your entry door look beautiful and welcome guests into your home.

You know what’s better than buying a wreath – making one yourself. It isn’t difficult either. We’ll show you step by step how to make a spring door wreath.

Step 1: Get Your Supplies

First you’ll need your supplies. There aren’t many needed to make a spring door wreath:

Wreath: you can make one from any material. In the video we used grapevine.

Flowers: either real or plastic will work. In the video we used plastic. When choosing flowers, make sure you pick only 1-2 styles and colors. Otherwise your wreath may look crowded and disjointed.

Shears: they’re used to cut the stems of the flowers so they fit in your wreath.

Metal door hook: you could use anything to hang your wreath but we prefer the metal door hook because it doesn’t damage the door.

Step 2: Cut Your Flowers to Fit Your Wreath

Using the shears, cut the flower stems so they fit nicely in your wreath. You’ll want to test out a few lengths first before committing to one. Choose one flower and use it as your test. Also, be very careful with the shears - that can’t be stressed enough.

Step 3: Weave Flowers Through Your Wreath

Once you’ve found the right size and length flower stems, you can begin weaving them through the wreath. Whether you’re using grapevine like we did or a different material, it shouldn’t be too difficult.

Also, you don’t have to fill the entire wreath. Some people only fill three quarters or just half. It’s your spring door wreath and you can make it anyway you like.

Step 4: Show Off Your New Beautiful Wreath

Now that your spring door wreath is done, hang it on your entry door. There are many ways to hang it but we used a metal door hook. You won’t have to drill any holes or damage the door at all. It hangs over the top of your door.

Step 5: Now You Have a Beautiful Door Wreath

Now you have a beautiful spring door wreath to enjoy. Best of all, you made it yourself. Your friends and family will be impressed by your craft skills. So ring in the spring season with a beautiful, handmade door wreath.
