Introduction: How to Mount a TV

I decided to take the time out to show others how easy it is to mount a TV. A lot of people are starting to get their tv mounted because a mounted tv takes up less space in their home & it's a much cleaner look especially when you have multiple children. People think mounting tv's is a difficult thing to do when all it takes is a few simple supplies and 6 easy steps.

Supplies

Step 1: Pick the Wall Mount

There are different types of wall mounts including flat, tilt, swivel or full motion mounts. Once you know the size of your tv you can start researching which mount fits your tv best and what type of look you are trying to go with.

Step 2: Find the Studs

During this step decide which wall you would like your TV to be mounted on. Use your stud finder to find the studs in the wall. Your mount will require one or two studs. Once you locate them you mark the location where the mount will go.

Step 3: Place Your Mounting Bracket on the Wall

During this step you're going to make sure your bracket is aligned by using your leveler. Then you're going to create four holes in the spot where the bracket is going.

Step 4: Drill the Holes

Take your drill bits & impact driver to drill the holes. You should be able to tell if the screws are going in easy or not. If it's going in easy then you missed the studs.

Step 5: Attach the Mounting Arms to Back of the TV

During this step you're going to lay your TV down on a flat surface then insert screws into the back of the TV provided with the mount that was purchased.

Step 6: Hang TV on the Mount

Take the TV with the mounting arms attached and hoist it onto the bracket carefully & depending on the size of your TV you might need someone to help lifting.
