Introduction: How to Re-lace a Boot.
In this Instructable, I will thoroughly and descriptively show you how to re-lace an 8" boot. The reason i am preforming this task is because my 8 inch boots have laces that are very warn and about to break.
Supplies
Supplies you will need for this task include:
.A lace up shoe or boot, (preferably with warn laces).
.A new pair of laces, (Correct length).
Step 1: Step One: Removing the Old Laces.
Before you even consider installing your new laces you have to remove your old laces. The first thing that you should do is make sure that the lace is untied and off of the speed hooks. Next, locate the very most top eyelet holes. Grab hold of the lace on the part of the lace that is resting on the tong of the boot and pull away from the boot and the lace should pull right out. if it didn't, refer back to the beginning of step one. after you have pulled the lace out of the top eyelet hole, repeat that process all the way down until there in no longer any part of the lace in the boot.
Step 2: Step 2: Inspecting the Boot and Prepping for New Lace Installation.
Before you go ahead and install you new boot lace, one thing that is not vital but is always a good thing to do is to inspect your boot. Make sure all of the speed hooks and eyelet holes are still all their and intact. Also make sure that the leather is still holding up accordingly.Last but not least, make sure that the welt is still attached to the out-sole.
Step 3: Step 3: Installing the New Lace.
So now that you have removed your old lace and have inspected your boot for any damage, you are ready to install your new lace. The first thing always do before anything else is find the dead center of the lace. The easiest way to do this is with a boot lace charm but that is not a necessity. Once you have the middle of your lace stick it through the bottom eyelet and do the same crossing pattern and pull it tight and now you have finished re laceing your boot!
