Introduction: How to Restore Cloudy Headlights, and Make It Last

In this instructable we'll show you how to make a cloudy headlight lens shine like-new again. The process is simple, takes only about 30 minutes, and the repair lasts for around 4 years.

What you'll need:
11 oz. aerosol UV headlight clearcoat
1 half-sheet of 400-grit sandpaper
1 half-sheet of 600-grit sandpaper
1 half-sheet of 1000-grit sandpaper
Masking tape and paper
Spray bottle

Time Required: 30 minutes

Step 1: Mask Repair Area

Mask off the area around your headlight.

Step 2: Sand Headlight Lens

Wet-sand the headlight lens with 400-grit sandpaper, then with 600-grit, and finally with 1000-grit.

Once you are done, wipe it down with a lint-free cloth.

Step 3: Clearcoat Headlight Lens

Apply multiple, light coats of the UV clearcoat from a distance of around 10 inches.

Keep applying layers until the lens is clear.

Step 4: Cleanup

Wait about 10-15 minutes before removing the masking tape and paper.

You are now good to go, and the repair lasts about four years.
