Introduction: How to Restring a Guitar

This instruction set will teach you how to restring a guitar.

the supplies you need are the following:

A guitar

New strings

GuitarTuna app

Step 1: Take Old Strings Out of Guitar

Take current guitar strings out of guitar by loosening them and pulling them through string holders

Step 2: Put New Strings in Order

Arrange new strings by thickness the greater values on package indicate thicker strings, the sting with the highest value is the 6th string and the value lowest is the 1st string, the 6th string will be on the most left side of the guitar and the 1st will be on the far right

Step 3: Open String Packages

Open strings in order one by one starting with the thickest

Step 4: String 6th String

Push the thickest string (the 6th string) through the first string holder on bottom left of guitar

Step 5: Wrap 6th String Around the Lowest Knob on the Left

Pull string to the lowest knob on the left side of the guitar and pull through the hole in the knob and twist the knob so that the string gets wrapped around the metal rod with the hole in it

Step 6: Use GuitarTuna to Tune 6th String

Next if you can’t tune a guitar by ear download the “GuitarTuna” app a helpful app which can match the tune of the guitar to the correct note and turn the knob until you tune string to the E note

Step 7: Tune a String (5th String)

Repeat for 5th string, pull string through the second guitar string holder at bottom of guitar and up to the middle knob on the left side, then tune the string using GuitarTuna to the A note

Step 8: Tune D String (4th String)

Pull 4th string through 3rd sting holder and put this string in the highest knob on the left side of guitar, tune this string to the D note

Step 9: Tune G String (3rd String)

Pull 3rd string through 4th string holder on the right and pull this string to the lowest knob on the right side of the guitar pull it through the knob and twist till you tune the string to the G note

Step 10: Tune B String (2nd String)

Repeat for 2nd string, pull string through second to last string holder on the left and pull it up to the middle knob on the right side of the guitar. Push string through the hole and twist, tune this string to the B note

Step 11: Tune High E String (1st String)

Lastly pull 1st string through the last string holder on the bottom right of guitar, pull this sting up to the bottom and last knob on the right of the guitar and pull it through the hole in the metal piece sticking out. Twist this knob until you tune the string to the high E note

Step 12: Shred

Now that your guitar is tuned in standard tuning, the final step is to double check all your tunings and start playing some awesome riffs
