Hi, my name is Mickala and today I will be teaching everyone how to tame an Argentavis on Ark: Survival Evolved. I have been playing Ark for about a year or two now. Many of my friends play Ark; throughout the game they have taught me many things. How would everyone like to be able to have good stats which include weight, health, and melee? Then this is one of the animals you will want to travel back and forth to different areas of the map. Today I will show you what materials you need to complete this task.

Step 1: Traq Darts

In the first step I will be demonstrating on how to make Tranquilizer Darts. For this item the recipe level is 65, which in other words, it is located in your inventory under the engram tab. The darts are a type of ammunition which will be able to shoot down the argentavis and knock it out. Here is the materials the player will need to complete the first step. For the prerequisite materials will be stone arrows, narcotics, and simple ammunition. To locate the material for this item is found at the smithy station. Once this is located, the main materials will be simple rifle ammunition, two metal ingots, and three narcotics. In addition, make sure the player has extra in their inventory.

Step 2: Narcotics

Second step is making narcotics. Narcotics are used to knock the argentavis, which is putting them to sleep. Furthermore here is what materials that are required to make narcotics. Level 5 is where they will find the engram; therefore once the engram is learned continue on from there. In addition, there are two places to craft narcotics, one is a mortar and pestle and the next station is called the chemistry bench. Once those are placed and running, now the next step is to gather the materials. Not only do you need five narcoberries, don't forget to gather spoiled meat, which in terms of killing other dinosaurs is where the spoiled meat will be located. In addition, once you find raw meat let it sit out until an indicator shows up asking “spoiled meat”. Once you have that you are ready to make narcotics.

Step 3: Rifle

In the third step this is where the long neck rifle will be crafted. This is the second to the last step of the crafting process. For this engram recipe level is 35. Everyone that I have played with calls it the tranq gun, which is shorter and easier. Once you have this engram learned, now it's time to locate a smithy. In the smithy it will show what material you need and how much for each one; therefore one rifle is plenty for this task. The materials are 95 metal ingots, 20 wood, and 25 hide. Put these into the smithy, once those are transferred the next step will be to craft it. Watch for the white box to pop up on the screen. Lastly double click onto the rifle or craft it with the Y button on the controller. Again this is the Xbox console.

Now once that is all crafted you are almost ready to go and tame up an argentavis of your choice. There are many colors out there in the map, which you can locate on other maps to find more colors and maybe higher levels with better stats. In this next demonstration I will be explaining how to make a trap. Once you make the trap you then will have to lure it in. The trap will help you tranquilize the argentavis, not to mention you won't die so much.

Finally step four is the step to make an argentavis trap. Everyone makes different traps for different animals. Some have their own way of making the trap that works best for them. Feel free to find what works best for you. Furthermore others use gates instead of foundations. To make a simple trap the materials that you will need is four stone gateways and then two stone gate way doors. Find somewhere you are allowed to place it.

Step 4:

Now, once everything is crafted. It's time to find the argentavis that stands out to the play style everyone can enjoy. Make sure all the material is in the inventory bar or in the inventory menu. The first step of this process is to go out and search. Any map the game lists. Next choice will be to wander around the map; therefore some players look for stats and colors, or some look for just stats. The next step will be to lure the argentavis into the trap.

Were almost done, just a few more steps left. This does feel like a long process, but once the player has this down it will be easy. Another thing everyone will need for this is raw meat or cooked. Some say raw meat makes the taming go faster but others have said both of them work. Once the argentavis is down, the next step is to put it into its inventory once the taming bar and its food gets low enough. If it's not low enough it can take up to two hours to tame a high level argentavis, but if it's a low level one it should tame up pretty quickly. Another tip that players have used is called kibble. Kibble is faster and I believe lasts longer, plus it takes less time taming it. When you make kibble it's another process. It's not the same as this one here.
So here is one way to tame up an argentavis. I haven't played this game for very long, so any other questions find friends that play the game and they can help , or for the more advanced things in Ark there is youtube, Doedex, and other sites to help.
