Step 1: Drape the Tie

Pull the collar of your shirt up and drape the tie over your neck with the narrow end longer than the wide end. Depending on the length of the tie, you may need to adjust the length of this step so that your tie is parallel to your belt.

Step 2: The First Cross of the Tie

Cross the narrow end of the tie over the wide end.

Step 3: Under and Through

After you have crossed the tie, bring the narrow end under and through the opening of where your neck is.

Step 4: The Second Cross of the Tie

Then cross the narrow end under the wide end.

Step 5: Over the Front

Next, continue by bringing the narrow end over the front of the knot you have created so far. This should not go through the neck opening but instead just overlap the knot while switching sides.

Step 6: Under and Through the Neck Opening

Take the narrow end and place it under and through the neck opening.

Step 7: Under the Wide End

Then bring the narrow end under the wide end again.

Step 8: Over and Through the Neck Opening

Now take the narrow end and place it over and through the neck opening.

Step 9: Lift the Tie and Locate Loop

Next temporarily lift the wide part of the tie over your shoulder and you will notice that there is a loop formed underneath the the knot you have been making.

Step 10: Narrow End Through Loop

Pull the narrow end through the loop you have located and continue to tuck the narrow end through the keeper loop.

Step 11: Adjust the Knot and Push It Up

Adjust the positioning of the tie to make it look as ideal as you want. Then hold the wide part of the tie with one hand and push the knot up to your collar with your other hand.
