Introduction: How to Use Hair Rollers
Hair rollers are a great tool--they're fast, easy, and deliver beautiful soft curls. You can put them in your hair before you get in the shower, keep them on while you do your makeup, pull 'em out and have an instant head full of beautiful curls.
For a basic step by step guide on how to use hot hair rollers, please follow along!
A huge thank you to my super awesome model, Katie!
Step 1: Section the Hair
Part the hair in the front where you'd like to wear it, then section the hair across the head from ear to ear.
Measure the size of the sections in the back by the length of the roller. Section out as many as will fit width wise. On Katie's head, I created 2 front sections, and 3 back sections.
Step 2: Get to Rollin'
Take sub-sections that are as wide as your roller. Your section can be slightly thicker, but not by too much, and definitely not thinner than the width of the roller. Otherwise, your roller will not be able to stay on the base of your section and won't hold well.
Continue until you are finished rolling all of the hair.
*When rolling the hair, make sure to pull the hair straight up so that you can see (or feel) the bottom of the section clearly. This will ensure proper placement of the roller, and stability as well.
I like to use larger rollers up top to give more volume and body, then medium and small sized rollers as I move towards the bottom.
Step 3: Let Cool and Remove
Once you've finished getting all of the hair rolled up, let the rollers cool for 15-20 minutes minimum, for the hair to take the proper shape. This is one of the reasons why (heated) hair rollers are so great; at this point you can feel free to do your makeup, get dressed, or any task or past time that you'd like.
After you've let them cool, begin removing them one by one.
Step 4: Enjoy!
And there you have a quick, soft, beautiful head of curls!
