I had to Google to figure out what laurel leaves are. It's another name for bay leaves (the plant is called a Bay Laurel). I've never heard them called laurel before. Okay, I've learned my new thing for today, I can go back to bed now. :)
Laurel leaves are called Bay, or Sweet Bay, in England. The Olympic victors' and the Roman Emperors crown was of Bay. Laurel is common in France in the form Laurier and in Germany in the form Lorbeer. Bay leaves have a shelf life of many months if properly dried before storage.
They are used extensively in Oriental cooking.
They should not be eaten due to their sharp edges. Ground Bay is an important ingredient in the Bloody Mary cocktail.
This is certainly not Roast Potatoes. Roast potatoes are parboiled in the skin and then roasted in the pan with the Sunday roast beef or lamb. they should come out crispy and be eaten with the meat juices or with salted butter.

This recipe is interesting but I can't think of a name that doesn't give rise to confusion.

As for potatoes the best are English King Edwards or Dutch Beentjes.

How do the potatoes get brown & crispy when there's water in the pan?
yep... this makes the best baked potato ever!
Baked PotatoEverybody commenting is right. This is not a baked potato. Actually it is an insult to the baked potato. But I am not one to sling sour cream across the internet. Of course anybody who helps to spread the word about potatoes is a friend of mine.

I have to agree with nightninja87. This is really how to peel and roast potatoes. Baking a potato is actually easier, you just wash the potato, preheat the oven, toss it in for 45 minutes or so, and then slice it in half. If you can, please update your project and re-submit it to the contest. I'll leave it out for now so you can make changes. Thanks for your submission and I hope to see it updated!
okay I'll update it :)
