Intro: How to Beat Minesweeper

We've all tried to complete a game of Minesweeper. But most of us have failed. You get the concept but you just can't win. Here's my way of solving minesweeper, ever since I used it, I've never lost a game. Never.

STEP 1: The Basics

Before you jump into this, you need to know how the game actually works.
Contrary to popular belief, it's actually quite simply. Click a square, you get a number. That number is the number of how many mines are surrounding it. If you find the mine, you can open "unopened" squares around it, opening more areas.

Note when I say unopend, I mean unclicked, and when I say open, I mean clicked.

STEP 2: The Strategy

The Strategy is simple:

When the game first starts, click the four squares in the corner. This will open up a good amount of blocks (95% of the time)

Mark all the mines that are downright OBVIOUS. Such as eight 1's surrounding a unopened square, it's obviously a mine.

Next start finding the mines around other numbers, like in the picture shown below.

STEP 3: Tips + Hints

- Clicking both the left and right mouse buttons simultaneously over a number that already has it's mine(s)  found, will open all the blocks around it. This can save time. So, once you find all the mines around that number, click the right and left mouse buttons simultaneously.

- Finding the mines in 1 blocks helps a lot, because it opens many squares and good hints to 2's and 3's.

- Be careful. Only open blocks that you KNOW are safe.

- You will need to complete about 10 games until you get the hang of it, then you can complete for fast times!

Have fun!

I've worked out if a 2, & then a 1 then square clear after the 1. Also 3 then 2 then clear...so + above & below if goes 2 less then clear. Can't get last on https://www.funnygames.org/game/minesweeper_challenge.html (&1onther), IS IT IMPOSSABLE? (OR LIKE 1:1000000). Got the if a 1 in corner, then click next sticking out, & if that = 1 also then 2 free squares, likewise 3 & then 1, 3 & 1 in corner if 2 between. 1:5 better then 1:3 better then 1:2.

what does it mean when all the squares have little flags on them and the yellow smiley face on the top is wearing sunglasses. I got that when i was doing a random game, is is what I got, sorry the game was too big to fit on one picture so I put it into 2 different pictures. The height and width was 99, and the number of mines was 9800 I only clicked on the middle square to get it.

well thats right really when i started doin this i thought it was luck but i kept on winnin
how to find last mine?
its the one on the right because if it was left then the 4 all the way on the top left would have 5 mines.

my fastest time is 1 second

If you click on all 4 corners at the start of the game as suggested, you're going to lose the majority of your games. (The first click in a corner is safe, of course, but after that the remaining 3 corners are potential mines.)

The boast of '...I've never lost a game. Never' stated in this article has to be taken with a grain of salt. No matter how good you are, you're going to find yourself in situations where you have to guess, in which case you're going to lose some of your games.

"Clicking both the left and right mouse buttons simultaneously over a number that already has it's mine(s) found, will open all the blocks around it." What do you mean by this?

How do i solve this
I ve been playing this game for years and i never knew how to determine which square to choose

i'm thinking the line on the top, flag the left tile, and the 2nd line flag the left tile

Funny games, I have done with new version https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=saewj5fQkVw

So what could I have done here?
So, you're saying that all I need to do is click the squares that are undeniably not a bomb, all the unidentifiable ones will sort themselves out?
That sounds like just playing by the rules of the games. Where's the mystical tip?
An easy tip for PC users is to click both right AND left mouse buttons TOGETHER on numbered squares.

If all possible 'mines' have been detected around that numbered square, the program will clear large areas of the map for you.

Give it a try, it's easier to see than say (write) apparently!
