Intro: How to Build a Lego Mindstorms NXT OCTOPOD Robot?

This instructable is just to show you, how to upgrade my hexapod I've built in my previous instructable by turning it into a octopod (8-legged robot).

STEP 1: What Do You Need?

- Lego Mindstorms NXT
- some extra Lego gears
- time
- computer

STEP 2: Building

Than add an additional leg on each side. You don't have to change the gearing mechanism at all. The entire leg mechanism is even simpler because you don't have to worry about tripod gaits. (The new leg is the white leg).

STEP 3: Everything Else

Again, you can decorate or do whatever else with your robot. And if you get bored, you can take it apart and make a new one!

I used NXT-G programming software, but you have many other choices as well...

Too bad you did not include a step by step instruction for this robot which would be about 20 to 50 steps to this robot plus I seen your other instrutable and once again not enough steps, edit your instructions and you'll get my vote, but on the nicer side good job and just refine your steps for us. keep them comming. GWJax

thank you for your comment, but it's hard for me to improve my instructable now. I have disassembled this robot 3 weeks ago, and I don't have any more photos or videos. I will try to improve it. However, I have a new robot coming soon...
