How to Charge a Super Capacitor Using a Hand Crank Dynamo
Intro: How to Charge a Super Capacitor Using a Hand Crank Dynamo
Hi Everyone!
CHECK OUT OUR SUPER CAPACITOR FLASHLIGHT KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN:

I'm a huge super capacitor fan. I am always playing with them, charging them, blowing them up, using them to power ALL sorts of awesome stuff, etc! A friend of mine asked me to show her how to charge a super cap using a hand crank dynamo, so I made this tutorial video. I hope you enjoy it. It talks about what you need to create the circuit, and how it all works.
IT IS VERY, VERY EASY! All you'll need are the following items:
1) Hand Crank Dynamo (DC generator)
2) A Super Capacitor
3) A Diode
4) A Digital Multimeter
I've written a practical guide to super capacitors instructable for those of you who are new to the wonderful world of super capacitors. It can be found here: https://www.instructables.com/id/Lets-learn-about-Super-Capacitors-A-Practical-G/

Hello Krishnan111,
You should use two 2.7 volt super capacitors I series. Also use a regulator such as 7805. You may need a current limiting resistor since a drained capacitor may look like a short circuit to the regulator. Been there. I charge super capacitors off of a 12 volt (17 with no load) panel.
Where to get 2.7 volt super capacitors:

Good lux with your project.
