For this tutorial you will need:

  1. An OBD adapter
    • either a generic ELM327 adapter, or Carista's adapter.
  2. An Android or iOS smartphone

Step 1: Download and Launch Carista App

Go to your app store and download Carista app (iOS) (Android), it is free.

Step 2: Insert You OBD Adapter Into the Car's OBD Port

Consult your owners manual, if you can't find it.

Step 3: Launch the App and Click on "Is My VW or Audi Affected?"

Step 4: Select You Location and Click on "Yes, Connect Now"

Step 5: There You Go

N.B. You can also enter the information manually without an adapter, however I highly suggest the automatic option as it is more precise.
