How to Convert Incandescent Bulb to Led

Converting  incandescent bulb to led,I have buy cheap 1$ bulb fixture,which works on battery and  I converted to work on 12 volts.Inside fixture I put white led strips.

wouldn't it be more useful to wire the leds in a pure parallel configuration, instead of a serial/parallel? Then you could run off a 5 volt transformer(just about ANY usb or cell phone wallwart) AND retain the functionality of being able to run from the 4.8 volt battery compartment.

NM, just amazon/googled similar strips, and it appears they have built-in a 3 serial+limiting resistor setup, so you NEED 12 volt to run them. shame really.
But I suppose, if you need battery power for them, and nice small 12V sla battery should run the light for a few weeks :-)

I use this bulb to run on dc power because will stay fixed at one place,and if I use leds in parallel I must solder resistor to each led to run on 5v.
