Cylinders to Hard and explain how to copy games on Hard

Copying games need an extended drive, a different process to transferring game saves. You can do one or the other but not both

You’ll need to reformat to FAT or NTFS by computer. Then reconnect and do not use PS4 format. Just transfer straight for the game saves. (Not the actual saves)

Is this talking about storing game saves to a usb drive, or is it talking about saving the actual game itself to a usb drive?

The game saves. Not the actual game.
Question 4 years ago on Step 9
Dumb question but it's the first time I'm attempting something like this. Okay here it goes. Once I send the save data to the USB, and I would attach it to PS4 again will the game system read it as if it was a memory card and load all the DLC stuff etc?
Just wanting to double check. Also what usb size would you guys recommend? I only have a 16GB and I don't think that will be enough for my game.
Answer 4 years ago
The minimum is 250gb, and to do that what you mentioned is a different process. You would need to format the HDD into extended storage, then transfer the game itself into the HDD, not the save. The save will not be able to transfer over. If you want the save as well, you’ll need an online account, transfer the save to the cloud. And the game to the HDD.

Do I really require to be connected to the internet to do an "offline" PS4 save backup? Seriously? Why?

I've done this but the PS4 keeps saying the USB storage device is not connected.
