Intro: How to Create a Website

Hey guys and gals alike, it's krujh2. I felt like making a new instructable and this is what I thought of.

Websites are useful. They help us with businesses, email, and they make up the World Wide Web we normally call the internet. I'm going to tell you how you can make your own website and put it online!

STEP 1: Brainstorm

The first thing you need to do to get started with your website is to brainstorm. In otherwords, come up with an idea for your website. Do you want your website to have games? Maybe a chatroom? Forums? You decide.

STEP 2: Website Creators

There are many ways to make a website. One of the easiest ways is to use a website creator. These website creators give you a template to choose from so you can pick out the features you want on your site. Most of them are free, but can be upgraded through payments to expand the possibilities of your website. Here are some examples of website creators:

Intuit
WetPaint

STEP 3: Getting Your Site Noticed

Getting people to come to your site isn't easy, mainly because there are billions of websites out there. Adding your site to a search engine, however, lets people find your site more easily. Search engines take all the sites that had been submitted to them and use keywords to find which ones are the most important. Examples of search engines:

Google
Yahoo
Bing

STEP 4: Finished!

Now that you have a site, you are now an owner of a piece of the World Wide Web! Woohoooooo!

technically if you use freewebs or any other free creator you are not an owner of a piece of the world wide web, the host is. You should have added more details like basic html and let the people know what other programing languages they can learn. You should have also put a link to an instructable(like this one) on how they can host their own website cause most people don't want www.freewebs.com/whatever.html as their domain.

Not enough detail. step 1 gets skipped and someone "creates a website" with a free-and-easy free-host. Another few pages of worthless nothingness.
Can you offer any advice to people on what makes it worth doing?
