Introduction: How to Do a Macrame Knot Bracelet / Necklace
Gather supplies :
Safety Pin (optional)
Paper Clip / Clip board
measured cord / string
Step 1: How to Make a Macrame Knot
Step #1 : Now that you have your supplies that you need , in my instructable I will be using pink and blue braiding cord . Take the two cords/ strings that you chose , fold them in half , and tie a overhand knot , which you'll now have a loop . Now take the loop and tape or clip it to a flat surface , such as a clip board , counter , desk , or whatever kind of workstation you have , and separate the strings , into four sections , with the longest ones on the outside and the shortest ones in the middle . In my instructable it will be the pink on the left and blue on the right .
Step 2: How to Make a Macrame Knot
Step #2 : now that you have the strings or cord separated , take the left cord, and cross it over the two middle cords and under the right cord . If you want to start on the right , take the right cord and cross it over the middle cords and under the left cord .
Step 3: How to Make a Macrame Knot
Step # 3 : Now take the right cord , which if you started on the right , it will be the left cord and cross it behind the two middle cords , and up through the loop , and you now have the first half of the knot .
Step 4: How to Make a Macrame Knot
Step #4 : Now that you have the first half of the macrame knot , you will start on the second half . Take the right cord and pass it over the center cords and under the left cord , if you started on the right side , you would take the left cord and pass it over the middle cords and under the right cord .
Step 5: How to Make a Macrame Knot
Step #5: If you started on the left side , take the left cord and cross it behind the center cords, and up through the right cord ,, however if you started on the right side , you would take the right cord , cross it behind the center cords and up through the left cord . Which you will now have the second part of your macrame aka square knot . pull the cords tight and you will have your finished macrame knot .
Step #6 : To finish the bracelet repeat steps 2 through 5 , until it is at the desired length that you want it or need it to be , and then you can tie it off it by using a simple over hand knot .
