This 'untrusted connection' will pop up when you try and go on a site or type something in. It happens because the computer thinks that the site is not safe. Do not just ignore it though, some of the time it may be an untrusted site which, if you ignore the warning, could mess up you're computer possibly getting you viruses.

If it's only occurring on one site, then it is probably a good idea not to use the site, however if it is occurring on any site you go on, follow this extremely simple method.

STEP 1: How to Fix the Problem

It is very simple, all you need to do is change the date, to do so, click on the tab in the lower right of the screen, (windows 7) with the date and time on it. you should see a screen pop up, like the one above, simply click on 'change date and time,' and you're done.

STEP 2: Other Issues

You may have to change the date & time every time you log on.

Hasn't worked, try using another search engine, and set it has your home page, this problem often happens on firefox.

What you describe is only one (rare) reason for a not working certificate.

The browser shows this error message if you surf to a website with HTTPS protocol. Those websites produce a 'certificate' that proof that the data the browser did get comes reliable from this website.

Those certificates come from a 'trusted source' and of course only have a limited lifetime. And they cost a bit of money, so some HTTPS sites decide to 'create' their own certificates.

So, yes, if your browser thinks it is way in the future (like 2999) all those today certificates will be outdated for it. -> That was your problem.

But there are a some sites that use those self made certificates. Some because they want to save money, some because no one would trust them anyway.

So. if your PC's clock is correct, you should NOT just trust any certificate.

I see your point, but most of the time it will be this problem anyway, I do not know how to fix the problem of an untrusted certificate, and many things could be the cause of this occurrence, but this was my way of doing that, it is here to help people, and I'm sure there is a way of dealing with your talking about.

That's OK, I was rebooting my PC after failing to install RAM, and came across this issue, I noticed it said that the security had been outdated 10000000's of days ago.

Turns out my date was aug 2999, so I changed and it worked!
