Step 2: Measuring and Cutting
Start off by unrolling your wrapping paper and placing your gift on the paper so you can get a pretty good idea of the amount of paper you will need to use to cover the gift.
Next, place one of the edges of the wrapping paper in the middle of the box, role the other side of the wrapping paper making sure it overlaps the starting point and reaches the opposite edge.
Measure the side of the present and cut extra wrapping paper alongside the box. In this case it looks about 3" so you will only need about 2.5" of wrapping paper alongside the box.
Measure the wrapping paper and cut.
Now you should be left with 2.5" on both sides of the box, also save the scrap paper that you cut off to make the bow!

Step 3: Making the Pleates
Start off by tapping the starting point down to keep the wrapping paper in place.
Next on the opposite side crease the paper for reference.
Cover the box with wrapping paper about half way and then fold it back and put tape on both sides to secure the paper.
Now place the ruler on the edge of the wrapping paper and fold the paper back over the ruler, the ruler serves as a straight edge. This step will be repeated on the opposite side. Repeat this step 3-4 times to add the amount of desired pleats without running out of wrapping paper. Refer to the pictures for a visual.
Make sure you tape down every pleat to keep the paper from moving.
Lastly you will end up with 3-4 pleats and some extra wrapping paper for the finishing touch.

using the left over scraps, unroll them and use the straight edge to cut them into 6 strips.
next you will weave the 6 strips as shown in the picture and tape them down on the desired location.
once they are taped down you will notice that they start to curl and you want to make them curl up to the weave and then tape them down. you will do this for all the strips until you finish the bow.
