Introduction: How to Install a SATA CD-ROM Drive?
This instructable is teaching you how to install a CD-ROM drive inside a CPU. The steps were easy and clear. And it has high quality images for you easily understand.
Step 1:
Remove the CPU case.
Step 2:
Remove the drive bay cover where you put the CR-ROM drive.
Step 3:
Insert the CD-ROM drive inside the drive bay. Make sure to insert it slowly smoothly, or else it will get stock.
Step 4:
Fasten the CD-ROM drive with the locking mechanism, to let it steady.
Step 5:
Connect the SATA power cable to the CD-ROM drive.
Step 6:
Connect the other end of the SATA power cable to the power supply.
Step 7:
Connect the SATA data cable to the CD-ROM drive.
Step 8:
Connect the other end of the SATA data cable to the motherboard.
Step 9:
After installing the CD-ROM drive and the cables, close the CPU casing.

Can, By any chance, a CD-ROM work WITHOUT the SATA power cable attached to it??? Because suddenly my cd rom stopped working and i saw that it didnt have any sata power cable attached to it( It was working fine and suddenly it stopped..... The CPU casing wasn't opened at all)

There are 2 cables. SATA power and SATA data. Both are necessar.

Great, this worked for me. By the way, you need to connect SATA cable on motherboard at lowest GB one, because Drives can't be fast. For example I got 3GB/s and 6GB/s, Hard Drives for 6GB and DVD-ROM Drives for 3GB.
