This is a cool spinning top that will allow you to use some of those old CDs or DVDs you have collecting dust.
Just use a strong glue to connect everything or it can break apart.
Have fun playing.

how fast have you made it spin, have you managed to measure the speeds and varied the mechanisms you use to spin it, I have an idea for a lab equipment application.

Cool project.
Somewhere on the internet is a 'how to' showing how to make a top similar to this but with the added feature of a painted top surface. The ides is that as the top spins the colors combine visually to a form other colors, such as red & blue combine to make purple, etc. This would be a great a teaching aid for children & adults to learn what happens when colors are mix.

Hey, that's a great looking top! Using a marble is a very clever idea.
