Introduction: How to Make Masks (Tokyo Ghoul Cosplay)
This is a simple instruction on creating the twin masks from Tokyo Ghoul. You can use this technique to create any kind of mask. If you want to find out how to make the makeup, check out my other instructable on that: Twin makeup.
Step 1: Create the Shape
To create the outline of the mask, use clay to form the desired shape. Let it dry.
Step 2: Grease the Clay
Once the clay is dry, use vaseline to grease the entire form generously. This will make sure it is easy to peel off the mask later.
Step 3: Add the Paper-mache
To create the paper mache layers, take strips of newspaper and soak them in liquid glue. Then layer the stips over the clay. Do this until you have 8-10 layers and then let it dry completely.
Step 4: Adjust the Mask
feUse a fork to peel the mask of the clay mold. then neaten the edges by trimming them with regular scissors. To finish cut out one eye with an exactor knife.
Step 5: Paint the Mask
Paint the mask with black and white stripes. I would recommend acrylic paint for doing this. Remember: Kurona has verticle stripes and Nashiro has horizontal stripes.

if you sanded the masks before painting you could get a much better finish on them, bondo would help too as it would help to create a smother surface for the mask.
