Introduction: How to Make a HM Hat Box Ghost Hat Box
You will need:
·An old lamp shade
·Cardboard bigger than the base and top of the lamp shade (I used foam board)
·A exact-o knife
·A light
·a see through cloth that you could see through when a light shined through
·and the head you plan to put in it
Step 1: Lamp Shade to Hat Box
Start by tracing 1 circle that would fit in the smaller side of your lamp shade (or the top), then cut another circle bigger than the bottom of your shad (to get the right look of Hattie’s hat box). You will also need to cut two circles of your cloth to go over the cardboard.
Step 2: My Head
Now glue the smaller circle into the top. You should use the metal part to create a riser in the now base of the hat box. I also used the remaining board to create a support bar
Step 3: Your Turn
Now is your turn to play
I must admit, I have not tested this but on paper it should work
Cut a whole to show the scull looking back out from the platform you made
Now put your large circle on top and stretch your cloth over the shade. Then place your two cloth circles neatly over the cardboard
Your main problem is finding a way to turn the light on and off. The light is what makes your scull appear.
(Something to try may be to put a flash light sticking out of the back. But that may make too much background light and cause it to turn more into a silhouette.)

I get the feeling that this project could be truly awesome, if you only happened to show what the finished effect looks like! I'm Curious!
