I prefer to call it harvesting. I actually eat crow. Many people do not know it but they are edible. If you are asking why hunt crow in general then people also hunt them for population control. Crow have been known to wipe out crops costing farmers catastrophic losses. They also prey on water fowl eggs and hatch-lings. They are scavengers much like coyotes.
