Introduction: How to Make a Vinyl Flower Lamp.
exactly what it says.
Step 1: Cut the Vinyl
cut the vinyl down the middle and widen the center hole so it can fit. I used a stencil cutter for this(it heats up so it can melt the vinyl)
Step 2: Make "pedals"
Preheat oven to 200F and place record on bowl. Put in oven. This should only take about a minute.
Step 3: Glue "pedals" to Light Head
slide the record onto the light head from where you cut the slit and glue.
Step 4:
mix paints to paint "stem" and interior.
Step 5:
paint....also add 45 to the base if you like....just cut a chunk out and place on.

I like to use "Polka" records tee hee hee :0) Actually the polka looks like a lot of fun, but I am "dance challenged', and the polka looks way too complicated

I like it, but please tell me which vinyl was sacrificed for this project? I assume that the lamp doesn't output enough heat to soften this - 40w? L

It was some obscure classical record (it was a set of 4 records and I decided to use one of em that I didn't really use for anything). I sample music so I have about 100 records. Yea the lamp doesn't output enough heat to melt the record even more. I assume if you left it on for a really long period of time, then maybe but for general uses, it doesn't effect it. In the process of creating this i came up with an idea to turn my old snowboard into a shelf to store the records(because I hate how uncomfortable crates are). We'll see how that turns out...ill post it up in the next few days. Hope all is well.
