Intro: How to Make the Windows 7 Taskbar Act Like the Previous Versions of Windows

Hello! You might not like the new Windows 7 taskbar, so here is how to change it back! Unlock the taskbar right now.

STEP 1: Shrink and Never Combine

We have to shrink the icons and make the window list never combine into buttons. We'll need to open up the properties window by right-clicking on the taskbar and selecting "Properties". Check the box that says 'Use small icons' and select 'Never combine' from the combobox for taskbar buttons.

STEP 2: Unpin Everything

Now, we have to unpin everything from the taskbar. Just right-click on every pinned icon and click "Unpin this program from taskbar".

STEP 3: Create the Toolbar

Now, right-click on the taskbar and click Toolbars --> New Toolbar... A new Explorer window will pop up. Click on the location bar and paste %appdata%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch in it. Click "Select folder". You will have a new toolbar named "Quick Launch" but it's all the way to the right! Drag the toolbar to the left all the way. Right-click on it and uncheck "Show text" and "Show title". Lock the toolbars. You're done!
