Intro: How to Make Very Tasty Caramel Cheerios

Hello, and welcome to my Instructable where I am going to show you how to make my grandma's own recipe of cheerios in molten chewy caramel squares.

STEP 1: What You Will Need:

This amount yields a square about 30x30x2 cm

-Cheerios (

-Caramel squares (I used 6 bags or 1.08 kg) per large square

-2 pots: 1 slightly bigger than the other

-1 cup (250ml) of butter

-Wooden spoon or spatula (Note: no electric mixers allowed)

-Clean plastic bag (I used a cereal bag)

-Any type of bowl/container

STEP 2: Preparation

1.

Take off the plastic wrappers off of the caramel squares and put them in your bowl/container.

2.

Line the bottom of the smaller pot with butter.

3.

Dump the caramels from the bowl into the smaller pot with butter.

4.

Add water to the bigger pot up until about the middle.

5.

Place the pot with water onto your stove and put the smaller pot in the big one so that it floats in the water.

STEP 3: Preparation (continued)

6.

Turn on the stove to high and wait for the water to boil.

7.

The butter will melt first, then the caramels. Mix them together until you get a smooth texture.

8.

Pour the cheerios into the molten caramel.

9.

Mix until the caramel covers the cheerios.

10.

Dump the mix into the plastic bag and from into a brick like shape, wait for it to cool and enjoy! I hope you like this treat as much as I do!
