How to Play Guitar

Intro: How to Play Guitar

In this instructable i will show you how to play guitar. This is mainly for beginners but some techniques would help intermediates. I will show you: Cords, Notes, Power Chords, Fith Chords, Pick scrapes and Tuning, . there will be pictures and they are mine not web found.

NOTE DO NOTTTTT COMMENT ON THE OLD GUITARS!! HERE ARE PICS OF MY NEW GUITARS!!!!!

STEP 1: Get Materials

now before you buy a guitar you need have a demo done at the store.
and here is some advice. NEVER BUY A V GUITAR FOR YOU FIRST GUITAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
their looks are cool but they are horrible to play! (sorry danny) now for your first guitar buy a acoustic but if you want a electric you should get a strat. they have a thicker neck so it will be harder to play but you will get used to it. But if you if you want a "thinner" neck get an ibanez ( I-ben-ez) they have a flater neck.




Electric guitar

STEP 2: Frets

Ok so you will learn Chords. But first you need to now what those lines are for!
The lines are for where you put your fingers. They are called Frets and those dots are called "Position markers" Thre is one position makere for every other fret. Except for the double one that is for the 12th fret.

STEP 3: Chords

I will show you How to tune and six chords
first one is E
where it says x thats where u put ur finger
d means don't play string
the o means open string
(note chords are ALWAYS done in standard tuning) (eBGDAE)

STEP 4: Pick Scrapes

Pick Scraping is when you take your pick and turn it to the side and scrape it on you last three strings (sorry i ran out of battery life to take pics :( )

STEP 5: Power Chords and 5th Chords

These are for electric guitars only! The music for these are:Rock (all versions) and Some old metal (black sabbath Ac/DC ECT....) but anyways a power chord is when you play the first three strings
this is for the G power chord you put you index finger on the E string's (thickest) third fret and you thats the G note then you take your ring finger and put it on the A string put it on the fith fret and take your pinkie and put on the fith fret of the D string and strum THOSE THREE STRING ONLY and once you got those down you can slide them around. A fith chord is the sam thing but with out your pinkie (use the first two strings)

STEP 6: PLAY

Well now you gotten this far go PLAY THE GUITAR and remember PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE

STEP 7: Rock

Now rock like Zakk (if you are Zakk!)

yes i do actually. a friend of my has that guitar, and it is ammmmmaaaaazzzzzziiinnngggggg to play. it sounds great, it feels great, and it looks great.

oh no u did not!!! that was my first guitar, NOW! i have a jackson! with EMG pickups and floyd rose tremolo, witch i personally put into drop C tuning
