Intro: How to Propagate Cacti!!!!

Succulents are awesome to fill theb home with, even cacti. Cacti, and other succulents, are easily propagated by cuttings. You can have a whole new plant growing in just a week!!! Here's how.

STEP 1: Locate the Subject!!!

Find a pup on your cactus, or a leaf on your succulent, and make sure it is healthy and strong. It will need to survive on its own for a few days, so try to find a juicy piece!!!

STEP 2: Cut, Tear, Slice!!

Cleanly tear off your pup or leaf, trying to have even cuts on both sides. For succulents, you are done! for cacti, you will need to make on more cut. Cut your cactus about 1/2 in. away from the tear. Congrats! You are almost done!!

STEP 3: Let Sit and Plant!!!!

Let your cuttings sit for 24 hours to a week to dry the cut. This will help prevent your cuttings from rotting in your planting media. After the cut dries, plant it. It should root in a couple of days and be a new growing plant.

haha. thanks. they are the absolute best.
I'm just throwing this out there, but cacti fall under the category of succulents. Also, propagation techniques may vary widely from one succulent to the next.

So cool. Have you seen AngryRedhead's succulent projects? Her work might be right up your alley.

Wow. I love this. I never knew how simple it could be. I don't (yet) have any cacti but would like to get one and then do this. Thank you for sharing!
