Introduction: How to Take in Pants
I love thrift shopping!! You can get some awesome clothes for super cheap. Unfortunately, most of the pants in my size (plus size) never fit me correctly...Im straight in the hips, not curvy. Or the most common problem, only one size is available. (The pants in this instructable were a size 26/28 and I wear a 22/24) So without further ado lets get working!!
Materials:
Pants that are too big
Scissors
Straight pins
Sewing machine with heavy duty needle (or hand needle and thread, I highly recommend the machine)

Step 1: Try Pants On
Put your pants on and determine how much fabric you need to remove. As you can see there was alot of excess fabric.
Take pants off again and place pins on the areas you need to remove. Chalk also works very well for this.

Step 2: Cutting
Take pants off again and cut open the seams on the outer leg. Cut out excess fabric. If your feeling extra creative you can make something cute out of the excess fabric and create an embellishment for your pants.
Step 3: Pin
After you have cut out the excess, pin new seams together, right sides together.
Step 4: Sew
Sew seams together on your machine or with your needle and thread. 3/4 inch seam allowance.
Step 5: Try on Your New Pants
Put on your newly tailored pants and check for fit. If satisfied, you are done. If they are still a little too big, cut out more of the excess, and sew back together.
