How to View Stereo Graphic Images

Stereo graphic images can be viewed as though looking to the horizon through a window. If the two images are spaced at the right distance, the 3 Dimensional image will come into focus when the eyes are most relaxed.

Step 1: Start With the Images

Start off staring at the two images.

Step 2: Relax Eyes

Now completely relax your eyes and go out of focus (focus on the horizon).
Tilt your head until you see three images line up like so.

Step 3: Focus on the Center Image.

Now focus on the details inside the center image.
Tilt your head if needed and view image as though looking through a window.
Relax and the center window will come into 3D .

Step 4: May Need to Scale the Images

The 3D viewing is easiest when the width of one picture equals the distance between the eyes. Sometimes a image may need to be scaled in size to do this.

I cropped out a dumb supergirl painting I was working on and then it really looked like art to me so I stabbed all the keys to post it and it was picked up right away by lots of people on the web almost as soon as l lifted my hand,
Art or music has to have a current, a natural flow around and around.

Research has proven that the human brain, (even animals brains) can do amazing tricks.

A semi blind person can see sort of well if he/she is in a place where objects and space remain the same. The vision is always inside the head but appears real.
Eyes place second to visual memory. How about Sonic memory.. that old song you can hear in your head note by note?

We see what we think we see. BeerGoggle glasses, man! Ever try them?
The brain will do everything possible to create clear images out of extremely complex data pulses from the eyes .( Hearing is not digital. It is Analog.)

Your eyes see upside down they say?
We have extremely well developed areas of image cells in the brain that have evolved for over a hundred million years. Even the T-Rex has now to be discovered to have the vision of an eagle and a sense of smell far better than any living animal.

In your dreams, you can "SEE" almost as clearly as if you were awake but that is really hard to believe unless you are into Lucid Dreaming. The conscious mind throws out what it does not understand. and in the morning your dreams are forgotten.

So can you see in 3D?

I'm 3DMacPhee I use Photoshop CS3 to convert my art to 3D. I have an old computer but it is not on the internet. When I work on converting, I have no problem zooming in and see in 3D the whole time. I pan around and check for errors. When I need to see closer, I make a jpeg on the desktop and use a different program called 'Stereophoto Maker' that converges the left and ride sides much closer together. The Photoshop file is made of hundreds of layers, each a small part of the total image that are manipulated separate. Each is shifted inward or outward to make them appear closer or away. They may also be skewed and warped very slightly. Keeping the background consistent behind the relocated layers is the most difficult. You can use 'Stereophoto maker' to make the two sides cross-eyed or Black+White to use Red-Green glasses or to convert them for use on your 3D tv.

I can see CES's fine, but I can never see these PES's. I am able to look past them and they start to come together, but I just can't get them close enough (by looking far enough back). For me, crossing my eyes is easy. I do wear glasses. My vision is good enough so I can read without my glasses. One of my eyes sees better than the other, so when remove my glasses, I'm suddenly not seeing one image slightly bigger than the other and my eyes get all confused...

There are another methods for viewing 3D images. You can invert them (left to right, right to left ) and seeing them with crossed eyes. These are CES (crossed eyes estereograms). Yours are PES (parallel eyes estereograms). There are anaglyhps, too, and others.

No, I don't know the rates, but I know many people that makes it impossible to open the angle of convergence of the eyes. For me is difficult, and that I have spent some time practicing. Instead, it is much easier to cross the eyes, just seeing the tip of the nose.

I have a hard time using the CES method. For me the relaxed position seems to be focusing on the horizon with the eyes wide apart. If I scale the images to be the same distance as between my eyes, I naturally see three images with relaxed eyes. If I move my left thumb close the the left edge of the left image, it will will appear at the leftmost of the three images. That might be a good test to see whether the PES method is right for someone. How does a person who really should use the CES method see the two images with relaxed eyes? I suppose it could be possible to still see three images crossed eyed (with the images reversed).

Both methods (CES and PES) produce three images, which the middle is 3D. PES is appropriate when the images are small, ie the width of the same does not exceed 5 cm (2 inches). Larger sizes require more skill and/or training. I personally, see it is impossible when the separation exceeds 6 cm.

No, I don't know ther rates, but I know many persons that can´t open the convergence angle of the eyes. Instead, close that angle is achieved very easily looking the tip of the nose.
