Introduction: Hydraulic Arm That Shoots!
A quick fun project you can make and put on your desk for some shooting action!
Step 1: What You Will Need:
- 3x 10ml Syringes
- 3x 3ml Syringes
- 2x 5ml Syringes
- Tubes
- Cardboard
- Jar lid
- Small screw and nut
Tools:
- Pencil
- Ruler
- Hot glue gun
- Scissors
- Cutter knife
Step 2: Firing Mechanism
This is simply made by connecting a 10ml syringe with a 3ml syringe with a tube having them both filled with air now when you push the 10ml syringe the air in the other one compresses causing the plunger to go flying!
NOTE: if it doesn't shoot then the air pressure is not enough so you need to take out the plunger from the 3ml and but it back in but don't push it all the way
Step 3: Hydraulic Mechanism
This is what moves the arm and you make this by connecting the 2 5ml syringes together with a tube so that one of them is full of water and the other one is empty
NOTE: the tube should also be filled with water to avoid air gaps that will make it not operate well
Step 4: Building the Body
Now this part I will not cover in detail because this depends on how you want the design to look like
I made it out of cardboard and used the measurements in the pictures but as I said you should come up with a design that you like
Then I attached the syringes to the body and also attached 2 pieces of string to make it rotate
You can see how I put it together in the video in the first step
Step 5: That's All Folks!
If you make this please DON'T point it at any living thing.
I did not take many pictures while making this thing but if there is something not clear try watching the video it covers the build in more detail and if it's still not clear leave your question in the comments
As always if you have any suggestions for improvements or ideas you want me to make leave them in the comments below
Now go make something!
