Introduction: Incredibly Easy Pasta Drying Rack
If you're making fresh pasta every once in a while, you probably don't want to spend $20 - $40 on a pasta drying rack. If you're handy woodworker, you can "re-make" one of those racks for a fraction of the cost. However, if you just have an occasional need to dry fresh pasta, all you need are:
2-3 clean dowels 3ft long (will accommodate 1-1.5 lbs of pasta)
2 large (13 in tall) cereal boxes
Scotch tape
(to make fresh pasta: 2 cups of flour, 3 eggs ... wait a minute -- you should already know how to make pasta, you just need a quick solution for drying)
Step 1: Assemble Rack
Use cereal boxes as stands, supporting dowels. Use Scotch tape to affix dowels to cereal boxes. That's all! You have a perfectly stable rack for you fresh pasta needs.

Isn't that just clever!!! Been wanting to make homemade noodles and was trying to figure out how I was going to dry them on somekind of rack. Now I know...thanks for this info! Much appreciated!

So much smarter and easier than my usual methods of either pulling out my wooden clothes drying rack from the laundry room or (much worse) covering the entire counter with flour covered noodles and turning them till they dry.
I've also just cooked a large batch and kept them in a pot of water in the refrigerator, using a bit at a time. This works if you want pasta dishes every day for a week, or even a little longer. -You have to change the water daily or your noodles will get slimy and go bad in short order though.
Now I'll just pull a few dowels out of a cupboard.
Thanks
