Infallible Asthma Remedy
Intro: Infallible Asthma Remedy
Over 20 years ago, while standing in a line, an unknown lady approached my mother and gave her a simple recipe that forever changed her life. My mom was very ill at the time and her conventional asthma medicines weren't doing much for her. Without thinking twice, she went to the supermarket, and for about $5 got the ingredients she needed. Here they are:
1 Aloe Leaf (12-14 in. long)
1 Medium Onion
8-10 Radishes
1/4 Cup of Lime juice (Freshly squeezed)
2/3 Cup of Honey
Cheesecloth

1 Medium Onion
8-10 Radishes
1/4 Cup of Lime juice (Freshly squeezed)
2/3 Cup of Honey
Cheesecloth
STEP 1:
Peel off the Aloe Leaf (don't leave any green parts attached to the gel) and cut into chunks.
Peel and cut the onion into eight parts.
Cut radishes in half.
Put the three ingredients in a food processor or blender and mix until well grind.

STEP 2:
Without adding water, put the mixture in a large pot, at medium temperature. Simmer until it reaches the boiling point and remove from heat.
STEP 3:
Place a cheesecloth in a drainer and pour the mixture in it. Make sure to place a clean container under the drainer, to collect the precious liquid. Squeeze the cheesecloth until no liquid comes out of it.
STEP 4:
Add the lime juice and the honey, to the collected liquid. Mix well and pour in a small jar or bottle. Let it seat overnight by a window. Take 1 to 2 ounces several times a day while symptoms persist. Salud!

Medical science isn't sure what causes you to become sensitive. Current thinking is it may be triggered by a virus at some stage in your life. It appears that once sensitised your stuck with it for the duration. The symptoms improve and get worse but are always there.
As an example a normal person of my height and age should have an air peak flow in the order of 580 l/min mine at best is 408 to 500 and may fall as low as 350 if my symptoms get worse.
I am part of a Europe wide study into Asthma and have had access to a lot of information and various studies to try to understand the condition better.
My personal view with little to no real science or evidence is that we are sensitise by the chemicals that leach out of the plastics we surround ourselves with - particularly in cars that stand in hot sunshine all day.

Other things being looked at are so-called "germ theories" that say that the more obsessive we get about our homes and surroundings being "germ free" (as if!) we are losing out on the protective actions and re-actions to microbes and germs our immune systems evolved with and NEED today to educate themselves.
As the mom of one asthma patient and the grandmother of two more--all of whom have always lived in the country and been told to GO OUT SIDE AND PLAY--with many animals and no particular obsession on germs---I dunno what the answer is.
But I do know that sadly these people DO need the rescue and maintenance inhalers and other drugs to keep them going. The big SHAME here is that the US Govt refuses to allow real competition on the compositions and pricing of these and keeps them as VERY expensive Rx items instead of the sensible approach of Europe where they are over the counter and a fraction of the cost making it easier for Europeans to be HEALTHY.
See the recent NY Times article on this and you will see why the US is sadly the laughing stock of the world in health care and meds.

Anyway, it's a common myth, people like the idea because it's natural, it requires very little effort and is tasty.
I tried it anyway. It didn't have any noticeable effect, but it did taste nice on toast.
