Introduction: Infinite Loop Agility Ball Game

The challenge is to keep the ball rolling until infinity. #brainchallenge - An easy to print & do it your self game.

Hello Makers,

i saw the video of the game at the beginning on Instagram and was immediately impressed. No further words are needed. Unfortunately I couldn't find a finished model to reprint, so I simply designed it from scratch myself.

Supplies

Material List:

  • 4 x Countersunk Woodscrews 3x12mm
  • 25mm ball (optional)
  • Glue (Ruderer L530: Good for PLA, ABS or ASA,... NOT PETG)
  • a file
  • ripping chisel (optional)
  • holding clamps (optional)
  • 9mm drill (or a round file)
  • PLA Filament
  • 3D Printer

Step 1: 3D-printing

Download the files here: https://www.printables.com/de/model/634425-infinite-loop-agility-ball-game

You need to print:

  • 2 x Holder
  • 2 x Trail
  • 4 x Pin
  • 4 x Cap
  • 2 x Half Ball 25mm or a Sphere from fullcontrol.xyz (optional)
  • If the notches are deeper on the trails, you can print the pin-v1(higher foot). If its to high now, simply cut it to your needs in your slicer. (optional)

Print settings:

  • 0.2mm Layer high
  • 0.4 or 0.6mm nozzle
  • 2 perimeters
  • quality/structural mode
  • Infill 20% Rectilinear
  • Infill 100% for Pins and Caps
  • no supports
  • Brim for the Pins and Caps

Step 2: Assembly

The mechanism is the important part here.

He has to run well and still only have a little play.

So if it doesn't fit exactly, it can be reworked as shown in the video. Simply shorten and file until it fits perfectly :)

When gluing, it is best to clean the surfaces to be joined with IPA. If you use PLA like me, use the Ruderer L530 glue. This welds the parts together.

Remove excess glue with a cloth and IPA.

The screw is then simply screwed in. Of course with feeling. Optionally you can also attach some of the glue between the pin and cap. The only important thing is that very little should be used here, as leaking glue can become a problem ;) Of course, this should only be done if you are happy with the mechanism.

Step 3: The Ball

There are 3 options:

  1. You can buy a plastic ball with a diameter of 25mm.
  2. You can print the ball with two halfs and glue it together. Infill should be used wise.
  3. You can print a sphere at once. This is a print challenge but its really easy with this tool: https://fullcontrol.xyz/#/models/67cf20

Step 4: Finished

That's it :)
