Supplies

  4. A clean container to hold the discarded water from the first filtration cycle
  5. Optional: a cloth or paper towel to wipe down the filter compartment and pitcher/dispenser exterior after replacing the filter.

To begin replacing your Brita filter, open the new filter package and carefully remove the filter. Make sure you have the correct type of filter for your pitcher or dispenser, as using an incorrect filter may compromise the quality of your filtered water. It is important to handle the new filter with care to prevent any damage or contamination.

Step 2: Activate the Filter

To activate the filter by, placing it in a bowl of cold water and letting it soak for 15 minutes.

Step 3: Clean the Filter

To remove any loose carbon particles from the new filter, rinse it under running water for 15 seconds. This will help ensure that your filtered water is as clean and pure as possible.

Step 4: Open the Brita

To remove the top of the Brita filter, carefully apply upward pressure to the areas where the thumb and pointer finger are located, as shown in the first image. This will allow you to lift the top off the filter compartment without damaging the device.

Step 5: Remove the Old Filter

To remove the old filter from the filter compartment, simply grab the filter and pull upward. This will release the filter from the compartment, allowing you to replace it with a new one. It is important to use a gentle but firm grip when pulling on the filter to prevent any damage to the filter compartment or the pitcher/dispenser.

Step 6: Aligning the Brita Filter

Align it so that the bottom groove lines up with the bump in the Brita filter compartment, as shown in the image. This will ensure that the filter fits securely and functions properly to provide clean and pure drinking water.

Step 7: Securing Filter

After installing the new filter, replace the top of the Brita filter compartment and ensure that it clicks securely into place. This will ensure that the filter is functioning properly and that water flows through it effectively. Take care to align the top correctly to prevent any damage or leaks.

Step 8: First Filtration

Next, fill the filter compartment with cold water and allow the water to filter through the new filter. This process will help fully activate the filter and prepare it for optimal performance. It is important to use cold water to prevent any damage to the filter.
