Introduction: Introducing Instructables
This is how I have been introducing Instructables site to every one while going to work.
My cute little robot is hanging on my back pack. Many people sitting in front of me/ by my side in the train /bus are too curious to know what this robot is about.Earlier it was just a little teddy, and no one cared for it, now the robot attracts adults and specially the kids. They keep asking and I have to go on.... telling about this lovely site and the robot. Most people here hang some thing on their back pack/hand bags.As for me this robot has been my favorite and now is on my back pack forever.Scroll down to read how it is made.........
Step 1: Requirements
Loads of used computer papers.
Yellow paper
Black paper
Red paper
Scissors
Pencil
Black marker pen
Cord -Any color
White glue
X acto knife (option)
Carbon Paper -not in picture
Step 2: Print Trace and Cut
I printed the robot to 6 inches long.Trace it out on to used computer papers.Cut loads and loads of them.I cut 75 of them.
Step 3: Glue Over
Start gluing them one over another, once completed the thickness of the robot is 1/4 inches
Step 4: Neaten Edges
Outline with a pencil. If it is not in shape neaten the edges with the x-acto knife.I was in a mighty hurry so I had to do this.If you are accurate skip this step.
Step 5: Attach Cord
Fold a piece of cord into two and glue it on the back side of the robot.Just in the middle of the head
Step 6: Wheels and Other Black Parts
Cut two rounds for the wheels and some little pieces for the sides.I have used sticker papers. It is easy to remove the lining and just paste over.
Step 7: Body
Ooops! two different color pictures. One taken in the morning and the other in the night.Paste yellow paper for the body.
Step 8: Eyes and Ears
Cut eyes and ears with red sticker paper.Paste ears.
Step 9: Black Outline
Out line with the black marker pen.
Step 10: Complete
Complete by pasting the eyes.

Paperclips add structure if the eartennae or other fiddly bits start to bend. That's adorable. Thanks for reppin' the robot on the train.

You are welcome!

That's cool.
Maybe add a layer of varnish to make it weatherproof?

Welcome!Thank you for the tip.At the moment I do not have varnish.I will try it with colorless nail polish and upload a picture. Will this be ok?

That might make some of the colours (especially the pen) run, so I'd test it on scraps first.
PVA glues, like craft glue and wood glue, can also be watered down and used as a varnish as well.

That's great! :) Maybe I'll make something similar, because I have feeling that not many people in Czech Rep. know about this site
