Introduction: IoT Hackathon - Bike Safety
A device attached to wrist indicates turns through blinking turn indicators. An accelerometer detects deceleration and lights a brake light. The accelerometer detects falls and sends a notification to rally managers through the cloud indicating the location and severity of the fall. Indicator lights are either worn on back or attached to bike handlebars or saddle.
The location of bikers are tracked through periodic location notifications in sms text messages and displayed on a map.

I am not a tech person. I just spoke to a company who said they going to be offering a device for a bicycle helmet. It sounded like one of the gadgets for the elderly who have fallen, etc. It has am alarm when one falls. I asked if it then sent a signal to 911, etc. and they were unsure. They did use the term "Internet of Things." They are Aleph from Reno. I want something to use in backpacks I carry. Can you tell me more about this? Did someone steal your idea? lol Where could I get one? Thanks

Cool little gadget. Not to mention a good thought process considering in some places bike safety is taken lightly.
