Introduction: Jug Fishing
A cheap easy and effective way to go fishing and have fun will doing it!
Step 1: Supplies
A empty milk jug, 2 liter soda bottle, or any other container with a cap.
4 feet of fishing line
A hook
And of corse bait
Step 2:
First tie one end of the 4 foot of line to the handle of the milk jug or just under cap on other jugs.
Step 3:
Then take your hook and using the other end of the 4 foot piece of line tie the hook on to it.
Step 4:
You are then ready to go out and start fishing!!! (more jugs increase the chance of catching a fish, so the more the better)

maybe you could put an anchor on the end of the line, and multiple hooks above it.
i might try that some time...

Two things
1) May be illegal in your state for federal land.
2) you must fill the jug about a1/4 of the way with sand or gravel to ensure the bait is getting down to the fish.
Ok 3rd. If using at night a small flash light inside the jug helps to keep track of it.

Ok, the jug is made, now what?

Also if you wanted to tie it to shore or to a boat maybe tie it to a magnet and put the magnet on a dock on the side of the boat to make it easier than tying it on and off each time.

I know what you mean but half the fun is catching the jug and if you tied it to shore or boat it would be just like a big bobber.

This is a great idea! The only thing that I might do differently is tie the jug to the shore or boat somehow. As funny as it would be to see your jug swimming across the lake, it wouldn't get the fish caught. Great project, thanks for sharing!
