K'NEX ZKAR (Build)

Intro: K'NEX ZKAR (Build)

The ZKAR has long been a gun that I have wanted to build. Once built, I found out that it really was all that it was said to be. With that in mind, I decided to bring the instructions of this great gun to instructables. I don't take any credit for the build, as all the credit goes to the original creator, Zak. If you would like to view the original instructions, as mine are not EXACTLY the same, see here.

• Good range: 50 ft. - 70 ft.
• Relatively high rate of fire
• Shoots yellow rods
• Quite comfortable
• Open to heavy mods
• Fun to shoot
• Easy to build

With all of that being said, lets move on to the first step.

STEP 1: Layer #1

In this step you will be building the first layer of the ZKAR. It will be relatively easy, so just follow the pictures. As always just ask if you have any questions, or refer to the original ZKAR instructions.

STEP 2: Layer #2

This is the second layer of the ZKAR. Just build and place, as you see in the pictures. Again, if you need help, I'm here.

STEP 3: Layer #3

These are the instructions to the third layer of the ZKAR. It will mainly deal with internals. You might have some questions in this step, but if you pay close attention to the image notes, you should have no problems.

STEP 4: Layer #4

This is layer four. Again, just follow the pictures and the image notes, ask if you have questions.

STEP 5: Layer #5

Here is the last layer. After this, you will just be doing some finishing up. Once you are done with this step, you will be done with the gun itself.

STEP 6: The Bolt

In this step you will be building the bolt. All you have to do is build it, and push the pin you want to use into the hole in picture #5.

STEP 7: Magazine Pusher

Just build what you see in the pic.

STEP 8: Finishing Up

In this step you will be finishing up. Just do as you see and read in the pics. If you have questions, just ask!

Now that you are done, go shoot! Enjoy the ZKAR, mod it, change it, use it.

I have build this awesome gun but the yellow bullets dont flip into the shooting hole (sorry for explanation) so how does it shoot? :/

Well, at least from what I have heard, KI is down. I don't know if we will ever be able to access it again... kinda sad actually. =(

Nothing much. I still have my k'nex and I'll still do some things k'nex related every once in a while, so it's all good. I didn't exactly change my name, something happened to my old account and I was forced to make a new one. I also built this gun by the way, and I heavily modified it. It's bigger, meaner, and with the proper band set, it can fire granite rods over 100 ft. It also has a breech loaded mag so you don't have to take the pusher out when loading, and has top, bottom, and side rails for attachments, and even though it's a really big bolt action, I think it's worth it. I'm all about power now. I'll have an arsenal of some of the most powerful k'nex guns that I'll never take apart.

Hmm, well, I love to see you post something, as the community has been kinda boring lately.

Yeah, quite a few people have been having problems with their accounts, I wonder whats up.

I'd love to see some pics of that BA gun. I have updated the ZKAR before, but I prefer my R5 Defiance, as it has a better grip, action, range, setup, magazine, stock... etc.

Got any pics of your builds that I could look at?

Yeah, I could do that. I'll have to find my camera and the batteries because I don't know where they are right now. I think they got lost. finding them again may take awhile as I have no clue where they might be.There was a concept I was working on when I had my old account before my account went crazy and I couldn't log on it anymore. Anyway, it was a gun that I thought had so much potential it would draw alot of attention like Killer K's TR. It was a gun that could rival the TR in rof and performance, and rival the sRv3 in zero friction, but can beat both guns in range and power. I was going to go with a connector barrel, but seeing that connector barrel guns are less powerful, (unless we're talking about bolt actions, then that's a different story) I dropped that idea. But fear not, I'm going to get back to designing the gun and make it the best gun possible, I'm just not going to use a connector barrel, instead I'm going to use a tube barrel, as I've found they make guns have insane firepower. I may even collaborate with Killek on this project because I think he was looking for a concept for a gun that could beat his TR, I could be wrong though. For now this is a hush,hush project until I can buy more pieces from E-bay, I just ran out of black rods and black snowflakes building this gun. But you can spread the news and let everyone know I'm back on Ibles. :)

That new "power gun" sounds good, and I really can't wait to see what you come up with next.

I admit that I am usually in the habit of writing longer comments, even considering the length of yours, but I am really lazy right now, and so I want to move onto other things.

I found my camera. I just need to look for the batteries now. Things like to hide from me whenever I try to find them or need them. If I get around to having it built, you should definitely give it a whirl, the concept would be phenomenal if it was built. Especially since it's going to have a tube barrel, as tube barrels tend to make the most powerful guns, as you've seen with Killerk's TR-8. The feat I'll be quite proud of for this gun when I have it built is that the main body housing of the gun will be designed in such a way that it will gladly accept any tube barrel system based on Killerk's design regardless of the barrel type. Whether it be a turret rifle body or a not a rectangle body, and when built it should be as powerful as the sRv3 if not more powerful, while having a higher rof than most slingshots due to the use of a tube barrel system which would allow for a repeating mechanism like a turret or something e.t.c.
