Introduction: Kawaii Cheeseburger Lipgloss
Why have normal lip gloss in a pot...when you can have KAWAII CHEESEBURGER LIPGLOSS?!!??! Technically, a cheeseburger. But I digress.
You can use this method to cover any container with clay, so let's get started!
I'm using polymer clay in this tutorial. I like Sculpey brand because I find it much easier to handle, but you can always use FIMO, PREMO, or any other brand as well.
Step 1: Get a Lipgloss!
You'll need a little pot of lip gloss, or even lotion if you want. This one is from Forever 21.
Step 2: Cover the Top and Bottom in Tin Foil
Roll your lid and base in tin foil, but don't cover where the lid screws on. The tin foil will make it nice and easy to remove the clay.
Step 3: Make the Top Bun
Add some tan colored polymer clay to the lid, forming a dome. This will be the top bun. Then you can use some chalk pastels to shade the top to make it look more realistic. I use an exacto knife to shave off a little bit of brown and yellow chalk and then use a dry fluffy paint brush to shade. Make sure to leave a little bit of tan at the bottom.
Step 4: Add Lettuce
To add lettuce, roll out some green clay very thin and then scrunch it up to roll around the lid under the bun. Make sure the clay doesn't go past the edge of the lid or else you won't be able to screw it closed.
Step 5: Make the Bottom Bun
In the same way we did the top, add some tan clay to the bottom to form the bottom bun. This will be flat on the bottom. Then shade in the same way you did the top.
Step 6: Add Your Toppings
You can customize your burger however you would like. I first add the burger meat patty by adding some brown clay and texturing with the back of a toothbrush (it's one of those with the tongue cleaner on the back). I added cheese with yellow clay by just cutting out little triangles and connecting the ends. I also added red and white clay to be ketchup and mayo, and then I added some bacon! Because bacon is awesome.
Step 7: Remove Your Lipgloss
Be very very careful with this. It helps if you also put everything in the freezer for a bit before you try to get it out. If you have problems getting the lid out, try screwing the bottom in so you have something to pull on.
Step 8: Bake!
Bake your clay according to your packages instructions. To make your clay even harder and stronger, put it in some ice water right when it gets out of the oven.
Step 9: Decorate and Glaze
After baking you can now add a cute little kawaii face with rosy cheeks and some white clay cut like sesame seeds. Glaze with your preferred glaze, I like Sculpey brand. And then your done! Now you can enjoy your adorable lip gloss.
