Step 1: Keyboard Shortcuts : Part 1

1. Ctrl + B

  • Bold Text

- If you press Ctrl + B once and then type something, your text should be Bolded

- If you highlight the Bolded text and then press Ctrl + B again, it will Unbold the text

- You can also Bold your text by typing something, then highlight your text and press Ctrl + B

- Can be used by itself or in a combination with Ctrl + I and/or Ctrl + U

- This keyboard shortcuts will not work on every website

2. Ctrl + I

  • Italicize Text

- If you press Ctrl + I once and then type something, your text should be Italicized

- If you highlight the Italicized text and then press Ctrl + I again, it will Unitalicize the text

- You can also Italicize your text by typing something, then highlight your text and press Ctrl + I

- Can be used be itself or in a combination with Ctrl + B and/or Ctrl + U

- Thiskeyboard shortcut will not work on every website

3. Ctrl + U

  • Underline Text

- If you press Ctrl + U once and then type something, your text should be Underlined

- If you highlight the Underlined text and then press Ctrl + U again, it will get rid of the line under your text

- You can also Underline your text by typing something, then highlight your text and press Ctrl + U

- Can be used be itself or in a combination with Ctrl + B and/or Ctrl + I

- This keyboard shortcut will not work on every website

4. Ctrl + Z

  • Undo

5. Ctrl + Shift + Z

  • Redo

6. Ctrl + A

  • Select All

7. Ctrl + X

  • Cut

8. Ctrl + V

  • Paste

- If you press Ctrl + V it will Paste the text but it will not keep the formatting, so if you have done any formatting to the text (eg. Bold, Italicize, Underline) you will need to redo it

9. Ctrl +C

  • Copy

- If you press Ctrl + V you can Paste the text you Copied somewhere else

- As long as you don't Cut or Copy anymore text, you can use the same word/words over and over simply by pressing Ctrl + V while your mouse is positioned where you would like the text to be used

- This works great if you are writing an article for instance and need to use the same word/words over and over

10. Ctrl + Shift + I

  • Open the Elements section of Developer Tools

- You can also access the Elements section of Developer Tools by pressing Ctrl + Shift +C
