We have ( acutally I have ) decided to paint our kitchen. I convinced my husband to do it..The picture below is the original kitchen when we bought the house. It has been almost 9 years since we moved in and the kitchen needed some make up.

Step 1: Remove the Doors and Paint

We have removed the cabinet doors to paint. Then removed everything in the kitchen and started to paint the cabinets.

Step 2: Paint the Separate Parts

A lot of sanding, painting and repainting... We have sanded the doors first. Then cleaned them with a damp cloth and painted the doors 4-5 coats each.

Step 3: Paint the Remaining Parts and Install the Dried Ones

We gradually installed the dried doors to its place.This was the second week since we have started our project. Then came the lower part of the kitched.

Step 4: Backsplash Mounting

The backside ( the backsplash part) still needed to have something. That is the hardest and longest part for me. I couldn't decide which color or what type of tile should I use..So we made some trips to stores and places to find the "that's it!" type of backsplash.

Step 5: Cutting the Tiles

With an appropriate tool measure and cut the tiles. Then comes the gluing part. We used an ordinary glue gun.The back side was wooden so we didn't have to use a special type of glue.

Step 6: The Final Touches

We have finished this project in a month working only weekends. The messy part was to cut the tiles. There was an increadiblye huge dust coming from the tiles during the cutting process. Even the bedrooms were full of dust even I closed all the doors. But this was the inevitable part and I think the result is worth ito try.
