Intro: K'nex Chicago Typewriter Gun Model

*THIS GUN DOES NOT SHOOT ANYTHING*
This is just a model the represents the Chicago Typewriter. This was one of the guns used by the United States Military arroung the time of the Korean War. I built this gun to honor my grandfather who fought in that war.
Like all others, this is an easy build, if you follow the instructions.

STEP 1: The Body

The body is not the difficult part; however, you will need to change a few pieces as you build it. Read the instructions carefully.

STEP 2: The Barrel

The barrel is the easiest step in bulding this gun. Just a few pieces and those from the body.

STEP 3: Handles & the Trigger

The Chicago Typewriter has two handles, one close to the barrel and one close to the trigger. So here you'll make both handles and the trigger.

STEP 4: The Ammunition (Drum Mag.)

This part is very chalenging, especialy when taking it apart. Once it's built it seems impossible to take apart, so I would reccommend spacers all around the edge.

STEP 5: The Stock

Ahh, the last, and hardest step. You dont really need a stock, but if you hold the gun by the trigger handle only you should use this to balance the weight better. This is my least favorite part of the gun.

Attatch to the back and you are done. Have fun with your new gun model and I will one day post another step by step of one of my gun models. - Dylan C.

i think you need to look again The Thompson is an American submachine gun, invented by John T. Thompson in 1919, that became infamous during the Prohibition era. It was a common sight in the media of the time, being used by both law enforcement officers and criminals. The Thompson was also known informally as: the "Tommy Gun", "Trench Broom", "Trench Sweeper", "Chicago Typewriter", "Chicago Piano", "Chicago Style", and "The Chopper".]
The Thompson was favored by soldiers, criminals, police and civilians alike for its ergonomics, compactness, large .45 ACP cartridge, reliability, and high volume of automatic fire. It has since gained popularity among civilian collectors for its historical significance. and don't say rednecks don't know a thnig
The M1 Thompson was used in Vietnam and Korea as well.
(no offence intended)
Does he say rednecks don't know a thing?
BTW: that text's from wikipedia
no he didn't say redneck don't know a thing and how do you think wrote that article for wikipedia this redneck here wrote it
Ok, I'll just have to believe you on that, as I can't know who did and who not. Please don't hate me on that. BTW: what is an redneck? (I'm from holland, and I've never heard that before)
my dad tells me if i don't know something "look it up" but here i did it for you

Redneck is a historically derogatory slang term used in reference to poor, uneducated white farmers, especially from the southern United States.[1][2] It is similar in meaning to cracker (especially regarding Georgia and Florida), hillbilly (especially regarding Appalachia and the Ozarks),[3] and white trash (but without the last term's suggestions of immorality).[4][5][6]
In recent decades, the term has expanded its meaning to refer to bigoted, loutish reactionaries who are opposed to modern ways,[7] and has often been used to attack Southern conservatives and racists.[8] At the same time, some Southern whites have reclaimed the word, using it with pride and defiance as a self-identifier.[9]
Yeah, I really don't use Wikipedia for research anymore because anyone can go to any article and change the whole thing. I'll admit, they have some close enough descriptions, but most people think, "Okay, this is good for..." whatever when it's really not.
So your grandfather was in the Korean war? He deserves my respect.
