Introduction: Knex M4 Carbine.
Hello, I'm going to show you how to build my version of the M4 Carbine.
Before you're going to build it, note this pretty hard to build, especially connecting the parts.
Now some good and bad things about the gun:
Good things:
- It really looks like a M4
- It has a good range
- The size is realistic
- The handle and stock are comfortable
- Fast reload (note: this only will work with dark grey connectors)
- Accurate
Some bad things:
- The bendy blue rods (Handle) can snap out
- Hard to build
- You can't shoot dark grey connectors while the front barrel is connected to the gun
- You need A LOT white & red connectors
Now about the range..
WITHOUT front barrel you can achieve about 35 feet with dark grey connectors as bullets, and 65 feet with a sharpened red rod.
WITH front barrel you can shoot only 30-35 feet with every rod which is longer than a blue one. (This isn't really good for it's size, but I think with front barrel you really can't achieve a further distance)
If you have built this gun, let me know what your results are and if you want, feel yourself free to subscribe.
Step 1: Ram Rod.
Sorry, I didn't take a lot of pictures but I think you'll able to figure this out.
The rubber bands have to be between the dark grey connectors and the tan connector.
The grey spacer do you need.
Step 2: The Stock.
Realistic stock, but hard to build. Make sure you have enough blue spacers and white connectors.
1: Lowest part of the stock. Make sure you build 3 of these.
2: Attach the 3 parts with some orange connectors.
3: What it should look like
4: Back side.
5: Not very hard
6-7: Hard to make, but don't give up :)
8: Get these.
9-10: Create this with the pieces from pic. 8
11: Connect
12: Wrap a rubber band around the front part of the stock. This prevents the long grey rods frequently snap out (Don't click them in!!!)
13-14-15: Connecting the two parts
16: Last details
17: Where to attach the Y-connectors
And you're done!
Step 3: Stock Connector.
Yeah, weird step, but it it's very important you're building this step good.
It connects the stock with the barrel and the barrel with the handle.
1: What you're gonna build
2: Get these.
3-4-5-6: Connect the parts you've build
7: Get these
8: Make
9-10: Connect
Step 4: The Trigger
Pretty simple. I didn't take it apart, because I think you can build it easily from a picture.
1: Side view
2: Back view
Step 5: The Barrel.
The biggest step with a lot of details, make sure you don't forget anything.
The barrel and body:
1: What you're gonna build
2-3-4-5-6: Build this.
7: First layer
8: Add the barrel
9: Make this
10-11: Add
12-13: Trigger guard
14: Connect it to the gun
15: Add the trigger
16: Add the blue rod
17: Add the other plate
18-19-20: Just add.
Carrying handle and sights:
21-22-23-24: Make these parts
25-26: Attach
27-28-29: Connect to the barrel
And you're done with the barrel.
Keep it up, you're halfway there.
Step 6: The Handle.
I really tried to make the handle look like the real one, and I think, it does really look like :) Only the bottom isn't very realistic.
If you don't have bendable blue rods, you can use yellow bendy rods. If you don't have these at all, you maybe can use hinges? I don't know :P
And I don't have a lot pictures, but I don't think it's necessary. Good luck.
1: The handle
2: Get these and built it
Step 7: Connecting the Handle, Stock (connector) and Barrel.
OK, this is probably really hard to do, so please look good and read all the notes.
1-2-3: Connect the handle with the barrel
4: Get the stock WAIT! DON'T ATTACH IT YET!
5-6-7: Connect the stock
Step 8: The Magazine.
A basic magazine, meant for dark grey connectors. I just added the black parts of a hinge because I taught the angle was more realistic.
1: The magazine
2-3-4: Make these
Upper part of the magazine
5-6-7: Just make
Lower part:
8-9-10: Just make
11-12: Add the rubberband
NOTE: You can't use dark grey connectors as bullets while the front barrel is connected to the gun.
Step 9: The Front Barrel.
This may take a while to build. Again, I haven't taken loads of pictures, But I think you're able to build this.
1-2-3: Make this
4-5-6: Make these
7-8: Assembly
9: Get these
10: Connect with the 3-way connector
1-2-3: Make this
4-5-6: Make these
7-8: Assembly
9: Get these
10: Connect with the 3-way connector
Step 10: Assembly.
Finally, put your M4 together.
1: The easily removable magazine
2-3: Connect the front barrel
