Introduction: K'nex Slider Rifle

About: I do K'nex...a lot. It's fun to mess around with new mechanisms, and to learn about basic engineering. I build mostly guns, and love to build new concepts. I will start posting some of my 'unposted ideas' in f…

This is the new K'nex rifle that I just made. It has an eight round turret on the front, (courtesy of 'KILLERK') and fires oodamo rounds. This gun can easily get 35 feet, and considering this is my first rifle, I think it's pretty darn good.

The reason I'm naming it 'The Slider Rifle', is because the ramrod is attached to a slide in the rear of the gun. I have not seen a rifle that has used this kind of ramrod yet on the site, but I could be wrong and apologize if someone thinks I stole their idea. Just to make things clear, I made this on my own; I had nothing to work off of from this site. But anyway, the slide mechanism can be seen in Photos 2.

I've also entered this rifle in the Community Contest: Toy Rods and Connectors, and would love to make it as a finalist, or even a runner up. Your vote would mean a lot to me. If you have any questions, just ask. Also, I am thinking of making instructions for this gun, but if no one wants them, I am not going to do it. If you want instructions, just ask. So, that said, here are some pro's and con's.

Pro's -

Easy to load and fire.

Pretty decent firing time.

Good Range.

Comfortable stock.

Kinda Lightweight.

Con's -

Handle is a bit uncomfortable, I've fixed it and will update it.

The slide does cause some friction, but you can add more bands for more and more power.

The trigger is kind of weak.

Step 1: Internals

Just the internals of the gun. It shows the slide, the trigger and the turret placement.
